Poisoning is a major problem facing wildlife across the globe. The RSPB is seeking a motivated and well-organised person, ideally with relevant experience and contacts, to deliver a global review of impacts of poisoning and techniques to tackle this, and use these to produce guidelines on tackling poisoning of migratory birds. This will include organising an international workshop to ensure broad stakeholder input to and support for the process and outputs. Experience of scientific or policy research in an environmental field is essential, as is the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. This project is funded by the Convention on Migratory Species Secretariat, with a view to the adoption of the guidelines by the next Conference of the Parties in 2014.
