This is a full time, permanent position located in our Wellington office.


•   Do you want to be accountable for driving the implementation of major environmental reforms?

•   Do you want the opportunity to influence the senior management team in how to achieve successful implementation through programme management?



With two major reform programmes underway – Freshwater Management and Resource Management Act – the Ministry, as a place to work, is both challenging and exciting.  The application of project management principles is highly valued and the creation of this permanent role reflects that.


As a Programme Manager, you will help define, design and deliver some of our highest priorities.  Your initial assignment will be to take on the challenge of building and maintaining momentum for one of our major reform work programmes.  Your enthusiasm and drive for results will ensure the programme's continued success.


The ideal candidate will be an adept operator with a strong understanding of how organisations work, be delivery and customer focussed, and accomplished at creating high performing project/programme teams.


You will have:

• a Project Management qualification PMP or CAPM, PRINCE2 Certified Practitioner or Foundation Accredited

• demonstrable experience in the practical application of project and programme methodologies

• a track record of success spanning a minimum of six to ten years

• highly developed negotiating, influencing and communication skills

• a high degree of personal motivation and ability to motivate others

• experience working within the machinery of government.

Salary range: $108,256 to $146,464
