Description

The European Climate Foundation (ECF) is looking for an experienced project manager/administrator to work closely with ECF staff on a special programme to deliver significant CO2 savings from the EU power sector.

The selected candidate will work at ECF headquarters in The Hague and will primarily support the Power Programme and the Finance Team in project managing grantees, ensuring reporting and financial transparency of the programme and enabling the evaluation of grantee reports. Other responsibilities include:

Within the Power Programme:

  • Working in partnership with ECF colleagues to design and implement appropriate project management tools for the strategy;
  • Ensuring the effective administration of a suite of grants to NGOs, think-tanks and consultancies;
  • Ensuring the effective administration of the steering committee of key external partners that will oversee the programme;
  • Enabling timely reporting from key partners;
  • Ensuring the financial transparency of the project to funders;
  • General project management/administrative support, including scheduling, travel logistics, reviewing mail.

In support of the broader organisation, maintain professional skills in project management/administration and work with other ECF staff to ensure good processes and best-practice is upheld.

We seek candidates that actively generate and implement ideas for programme and office improvement, and offer great possibilities for professional development and an excellent work atmosphere. The ideal candidates should embody the following professional qualifications and personal attributes:

  • Relevant work experience in administrating large projects and/or project management in a grant-making setting.
  • Demonstrated interest in the mission and values of the European Climate Foundation.
  • Strong administrative skills; excellent attention to detail.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, take initiative and be a creative problem-solver.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently; enthusiastic personality; sense of humour.
  • Solid computer experience with emphasis in Microsoft Office, especially Excell, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Mac an asset.
  • Fluency in English (required) and at least one other European language (preferred).
  • Experience in working with NGOs is desirable.

Recruitment process: Closing date for applications is 15th August. A short written exercise may be conducted. Interviews will take place the second half of August in The Hague with some flexibility to allow for the summer period. Work starting as soon as possible after the completion of the interviews.
Compensation: Competitive salary.
