Description

At Natural England, we advise the UK Government on the natural environment. We’re here to make sure people and nature can thrive. From advising farmers on sustainable land management, to gathering and analysing environmental data, and promoting health and wellbeing through the great outdoors, we love what we do. Join us and you’ll be part of an inclusive, motivated and ambitious team, committed to achieving results for our environment, for everyone.

This is an opportunity to play a critical role in delivering Natural England’s programme of change. You will be joining the Project Management Hub, which is a national team working across the organisation. Our projects cover everything from on-the-ground delivery of nature recovery, to developing new grant schemes, to improving operational delivery, to delivering new digital processes and new evidence tools.  Whatever your programme, it’s a chance to join a collaborative team that is focused on development and freely shares skills and expertise.

We welcome qualified and experienced project managers from a range of management backgrounds, both within and beyond the environmental field.  You’re likely to have a good track-record of successfully managing multiple complex projects, matched by a proven ability to nurture effective working relationships with different stakeholders.  Experience of developing business cases and project plans is essential. You should also be able to identify and manage risk.  We look for a willingness to learn and develop, as well as to innovate and challenge established processes.

We welcome and encourage applications from all communities and, wherever possible, we accommodate requests for both full and part-time hours and other flexible working patterns. Everyone at Natural England is supported to develop their skills and capabilities. You can also look forward to great benefits including a Civil Service pension.

If you’re inspired to protect and enhance England’s wildlife, and want to work for a leading science-led organisation, apply here.
