The Elephant Sanctuary, a non-profit organization, has an immediate opening for a project manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: writing, researching and maintaining the Sanctuary website Wish List, as well as updating our Sanctuary Much web page.  The Project Manager is responsible for VIP Program management which includes managing two Sanctuary VIP Tours per year, file maintenance and other projects related to our VIP donors.  This position also works closely with the Sanctuary Directors on special projects.  The position requires creativity and flexibility as duties may change according to office needs.

Other projects that are the responsibility of the Project Manager include, but are not limited to:   Combined Federal Campaign, October Elephant Awareness month, assembling press kits. Once trained, Project Manager will also supervise all member mailings, oversee print materials and proofread Sanctuary materials.  Project Manger will be responsible for coordinating and executing all details of these projects. 

This a 40-hour-a-week position. Your hourly wage will be determined by your skill level and established at your time of hire.

Experience
At least 2 years experience in any organization in which you have displayed the required skills and abilities

Skills & Abilities
MS Office, including Powerpoint, spreadsheet and word processing, email and internet

Knowledge and appreciation for the Sanctuary’s mission and basic knowledge about animal welfare. May be required to do moderate lifting. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to identify and clarify assumptions
  • Polite, professional, friendly telephone manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Sensitivity and diplomacy
