Description

At Natural England, we advise the UK Government on the natural environment. We’re here to make sure people and nature can thrive. From advising farmers on sustainable land management, to gathering and analysing environmental data, and promoting health and wellbeing through the great outdoors, we love what we do. Join us and you’ll be part of an inclusive, motivated and ambitious team, committed to achieving results for our environment, for everyone.

As one of our Project Managers, you’ll bring your extensive knowledge and expertise to a diverse range of environmental challenges. It’s an opportunity to learn about new initiatives, to lead and develop our people, secure funding and develop your all-round project management skills. Whether you’re creating or improving tools and guidance, enhancing our capabilities or supporting organisational change, you’ll play a key role in driving our programmes forward.

Your focus will be on delivering projects on time, within budget and to the highest possible standards. This will involve collaborating with sponsors to innovate and mitigate risk, as well as adhering to governance, maintaining audit trails and embedding lessons learnt into future projects. Actively seeking out feedback and supporting colleagues will also be key,

As well as an appropriate project management qualification, such as APM, Prince2, MSP or PP3, we’re looking for a solid background in project delivery and the ability to manage multiple complex projects and stakeholders.

Excellent IT, organisational and project tracking skills are also essential. If you’re experienced in organisational change projects and developing stakeholder relationships too, so much the better.

We welcome and encourage applications from all communities and, wherever possible, we accommodate requests for both full and part-time hours and other flexible working patterns. Everyone at Natural England is supported to develop their skills and capabilities. You can also look forward to great benefits including a Civil Service pension.
