Project Manager, Lake Ossa Project, Cameroon

ZSL’s Cameroon Programme is looking for a Project Manager for their Lake Ossa Project.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of this 3 year Darwin Initiative funded project (started April 2014), coordinating and implementation the project’s activities, liaising with project partners and monitoring and evaluating project progress. The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing the project further and securing additional funds for its delivery.

 

Successful applicants will have an excellent standard of written and spoken French and English, and have a bachelor’s degree (or preferably higher) in a relevant subject. Experience in project management and development, and practical experience in a relevant field such as community based conservation, social science, aquatic conservation or fisheries management is essential, as is a good understanding of biodiversity conservation and development issues. The candidate should have proven budget management and report writing ability, and excellent communication skills. The candidate should also have experience of living and working in developing countries, preferably in Central Africa.

 

The post will be primarily based in Dizangué, close to Lake Ossa, with regular travel to ZSL’s HQ in Yaoundé.  

 

A salary commensurate with experience of £23,551-£27,947 per annum will be provided. The position is to start as soon as possible.  A full job description is available from www.zsl.org/jobs
