Description

SEI is seeking an experienced project manager to EviEM who can continue with a recently started systematic review.

EviEM works for environmental management to be placed on a scientific foundation. We provide decision-makers and other stakeholders with systematic reviews of various environmental topics.  Each review is carried out by an international team of scientists with expertise in the reviewed topic, and a project manager ensuring that the systematic review follows standard methodology. EviEM is one of six centers in the international Collaboration for Environmental Evidence (CEE) network. EviEM is financed by the Environmental Strategic Foundation (Mistra) 2012-2017, and, as of 1 January 2016, EviEM is located at the Stockholm Environmental Institute in Stockholm (SEI).

Main tasks

  • Ensure that reviews follow international standards for systematic reviews.
  • Coordinate meetings with Swedish stakeholders and with international teams of expert scientists, coordinate discussions between members of the research team by email or remote conferencing between physical meetings.
  • Search for scientific literature using a range of academic citation databases and other resources, and assess the relevance and quality of studies found.
  • Extract data from scientific articles, record the data in spreadsheets or databases, and perform basic data analyses
  • Contribute to writing scientific articles and popular science summaries when review results are presented.

 

Required qualifications

  • PhD degree
  • Previous experience with formal systematic review methods
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel

 

Additional desirable qualifications

  • Working in teams of international researchers
  • Working knowledge of other language(s), particularly reading ability
  • Experience with systematic review management software such as EPPI-Reviewer, data handling software such as Access, and statistical packages such as R
  • Experience with copy-editing, lay-out and graphics for printed publications and the web, using software such as InDesign and Illustrator
