Project Manager, Coastal & Marine Conservation Project, Cambodia Fauna & Flora International Salary: Circa USD 25,000 Start Date: As soon as possible Duration of contract: Three-year fixed-term contract Location: The position will be based in Phnom Penh, with regular travel to monitor projects in the field. Founded in 1903, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is the world’s longest-established international conservation organisation. Our vision is to create a sustainable future for the planet where biodiversity is conserved by the people living closest to Working closely with local partners, the Asia Pacific Programme currently includes a broad range of species and landscape targeted conservation initiatives in Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar, and has FFI has worked in Cambodia for over 10 years with large projects assisting the creation of effective protected areas in the South west Cardamom Mountains. Over the last three years FFI has extended the scope of its conservation work in Cambodia to include coastal areas. FFI has been supporting the Fisheries Administration (FiA) of the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) through a programme of capacity building. FiA have specifically requested technical and financial support in their efforts to establish Cambodia’s first Marine Protected Area (MPA) and FFI has secured funding in order to achieve this. Through this project FFI will ensure that FiA has the relevant training, information and tools required to design and manage Cambodia’s first MPA. FFI will provide training, guidance and mentoring on marine governance, marine conservation theory, participation, negotiation and conflict management. FFI will seekto reinforce this through sharing lessons and building links to the wider regional MPA community to develop a supportive network, which will extend beyond the project duration. FFI will also seek to recommend options for diversifying livelihood strategies, but within the scope and duration of this project will not seek to implement them. FFI is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to oversee the effective delivery of this exciting new project.
