Directory Entry : Founded in 1967 as the Environmental Defense Fund, we tackle the most serious environmental problem...a scrappy group of scientists and a lawyer on Long Island, New York, fighting to save osprey from the toxic pesticide DDT. Using scientific evidence, our founders got DDT banned nationwide. Today, we’re one of the world's leading environmental organizations. In the U.S., Fortune magazine called our board one of the country's most influential nonprofit boards. You can see the jobs of the EDF on their website.

Description
IMPORTANT:  This Advertiser has requested that applicants MUST be National Residents / Valid Work Permit-holders.  Other applicants need not apply.

The Project Manager will support the collaborative work between EDF’s Corporate Partnerships and Health Programs, with a primary focus on outreach and engagement of NGOs and corporations in support of reducing and eliminating hazardous chemicals in consumer products. Our overall strategy involves working in direct partnership with Walmart as well as through The Sustainability Consortium to set goals and methodologies for reducing chemicals of concern in products; pursuing policy changes that improve regulation of chemicals of concern; working with the environmental community, academics, regulators, and others to advance green chemistry principles and practices; and raising awareness of the health issues associated with toxic chemicals in our environment. Project outcomes must be practically and technically sound from a business and operational perspective, and yet aggressively address concerns around hazardous chemicals in products.
