EMBARQ, the World Resources Institute’s Center for Sustainable Transport, is seeking a project manager for its India Program. The successful candidate will be based in Mumbai or Delhi, India and will report to Strategy Manager – Integrated Transport Systems.

- 5-8 years experience in Urban Transport
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Public Transport and / or Intermediate Public Transport (IPT)
- Degree, in planning, engineering, architecture or related fields.
- Post Graduate degree (e.g. Master level) in Transport Planning, Traffic Engineering, Urban Planning or equivalent.
- Provide conceptual leadership for activities performed by multiple staff
- Proven track record of managing staff and partners on complex projects
- Be willing to work in start-up environments, and on projects that have ambiguity.
- Proven record to prepare, manage budgets and resolve difficult and sensitive financial issues
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and the Internet.
- Capability to learn and use software applications for budgeting, financing, and reporting that are used by EMBARQ and WRI
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi and other Indian regional languages. Must be fluent in Hindi / possess bilingual fluency in Hindi and English.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work under pressure with tight deadlines

EMBARQ, the WRI Center for Sustainable Transport, was launched by WRI in 2002. EMBARQ helps to catalyze and implement environmentally and financially sustainable urban transportation solutions to improve quality of life in cities. EMBARQ works with local and national governments in the developing world on issues related to integrated transport, climate change and air quality, land use & urban development, and public health & road safety.
In 2002 EMBARQ founded its first Center for Sustainable Transport in Mexico (CTS-Mexico) and has subsequently created a global network of Centers in Brazil, the Andes, India and Turkey. The EMBARQ Network employs more than 100 experts in fields ranging from architecture to air quality management; geography to journalism; and sociology to civil & transport engineering.
