Job Description

2 roles (Permanent)

 

We are currently seeking committed, professional individuals to join our highly successful Planning and Development project team, taking renewable energy projects from initial site assessment, through planning consent to the point of construction, working with our technical teams and external consultants.  We are currently expanding both our onshore and offshore service provision and are therefore seeking project managers with experience in either or both disciplines. 

 

Applications are welcomed from experienced candidates (or those with transferable skills).

 

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree (or equivalent level qualification) and ideally have experience in the development of wind energy (or similar) projects and in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs). You will be a highly motivated, personable individual who can work unsupervised, with the ability to be flexible while adhering to strict deadlines and with an ability to communicate effectively and to manage consultants. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential along with experience of building and maintaining effective and profitable relationships. Strong planning, time management and project management skills are also a requirement of this post.

 

Managing and working to budget will be a required element of your job. You will have good IT skills with competency within MS Office suite being essential. Training will be provided where necessary.

A driving license is essential as the role requires travel throughout the UK. The ability to maintain a reasonable level of fitness is also a requirement. These are both full-time posts.

Qualifications
  • Degree in relevant area preferred
  • Project management experience/training
  • An understanding of planning regulations
  • Experience in co-ordination of an ES and the EIA process
  • Stakeholder Consultation
  • Client service management
  • Additional assets would include:, environmental knowledge and field experience

 

Additional Information

Location

Depending upon the prior experience of the successful candidate, the role could be undertaken from either our Head office, The Green House in Dumfries and Galloway, or our offices in Falkirk and Inverness.  Some travel to The Green House would be required to embed and maintain links with the existing team based here.
