Project Manager - 'Namgis Closed Containment Salmon Aquaculture Pilot Project

The ‘Namgis First Nation is based in Alert Bay on Northern Vancouver Island and is one of the largest and most progressive First Nations in B.C. ‘Namgis are working with The SOS Marine Conservation Foundation (www.saveoursalmon.ca) in order to demonstrate that salmon can be grown to full size in a land-based closed containment pilot facility and to determine the optimum design and operating parameters for a larger, commercial scale facility.

Job Purpose:  The Project Manager will be responsible for developing the Project through the various execution phases to the start of the first salmon grow-out cycle (forecast to occur towards the end of 2012).

Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and/or Aquaculture, or demonstrated equivalent.

Preferred Experience: 10 years managing the engineering, procurement and construction of aquaculture or other projects; additional experience in business development, regulatory and environmental assessment is highly desirable.
