The above position is fixed term contract position up to 31 March 2018 renewable on mutual agreement and performance. This position is on a C4 Paterson Salary Band total renumeration package of R 20 147.69 as the incumbent will stay outside the park. The incumbent will also receive a Tool of Trade allowance, pending approval as per SANParks Delegation Framework.
Requirements:
Diploma in Nature Conservation or equivalent is essential
Degree in natural sciences would be an advantage.
A minimum of two year management experience in Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) is essential for this position.
3 years Project Management experience will be an added advantage
Code 08 driver’s license is an essential requirement to the position.
Computer literacy essential
Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act
Knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
Knowledge related to alien clearing or rehabilitation methods will be added advantage
GIS related experience
Responsibilities:
Key Performance areas associated with the position would include, but would not be limited to:
Strategic and operational planning of the project.
Appointment coordination and mentoring of contractors and their workers.
Mapping work areas through the use of appropriate tools and soft ware (Arc view).
Managing the contract tendering process.
In field monitoring of contract/work sites.
Ensure and coordinate contractor training, supervision and capacity building.
Quality control and production control of contract and task based operations.
Compliance to Programme standards/norms
Complaince to Health and Safety requirements.
Asset and stores management.
Monitoring and submitting of reports on the projects contracting progress, including GIS based data capture and formal reporting.
Financial and administrative management of the project.
Organization and assistance with community programmes.
Communication and liaison with stakeholders
Preference will be given to local candidates with the relavent minimum requirments
