Description
The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) is the regulator for Britain's gas and electricity industries which have a turnover of £36 billion. Our role is to protect consumers and enable them to secure value for money and benefit from reliable supplies.

We have established expertise and a strong track record in effectively administering several of the existing emissions reduction schemes on behalf of Government; the main ones being the Renewable Obligation and the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target programmes. The Government intends to increase the scope of our work to cover a number of new low carbon emissions programmes, which include Feed in Tariff, the Renewable Heat incentive and Carbon Capture and Storage, and we are setting up a new team that will lead our work on the implementation of these new initiatives.

We have the following opportunity for this challenging and interesting work on this ground breaking project.

In this unique role, you will be the project sponsor for all new IT system projects commissioned by the Environmental Programmes Team. This will involve the business process mapping of the policy and business requirements for the development of the IT systems to support the administration of the existing and new renewable energy schemes.

You will have a successful record of policy and process implementation, with first-class project management ability. With excellent team working skills, you will be confident working with both the policy implementation team and the IT team. You will have a sound knowledge of how IT-based applications can be used to implement policy and the ability to interpret and apply legislation. Ref: OFG/357
