Vestas Technology R&D consists of seven different business areas – Global Research, Engineering, Plant Solutions and Plant Operation and four platforms covering the product portfolio.
The department V90 platform has full responsibility for launching and supporting all Sales Business Units globally with knowledge and performance improvements for the V90 turbines. This includes supporting the Vestas production units and ensuring that the platform improves the overall lost production factor. Secondly, capturing best practices from sales area to sales area to increase performance globally and to introduce new variances of the V90 turbine to the global wind market.

Responsibilities and tasks

In order to strengthen our matrix based project organisation we are in search of an experienced Project Manager with the following profile:
  • You are managing cross functional projects with project groups consisting of internal and external R&D engineering resources, as well as resources from SBU´s (sales/service business units) and PBU´s (production business units) or in some cases external cooperation partners.
  • You ensure that the projects are executed according to Vestas Wind Systems A/S procedures and guidelines - and that necessary follow up and reporting is performed.
  • You secure:
    • that your projects develops and supplies the optimum technical and financial solutions for Vestas Wind Systems A/S
    • that plans are aligned and commitment within the project group is achieved
    • that the developed solutions are prepared for fast and effective implementation
    • that technical solutions, status and plans are communicated to important internal and/ or external stake holders

Qualifications and work experience

  • You have a Production, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering background or similar, and have relevant experience within project management in an international environment
  • As the projects are complex and have a wide range of contacts both internally as well as externally it is important that you are able to lead, motivate and communicate both cross functional and cross-cultural in order to obtain full commitment and outcome of your projects
  • You have an analytical and systematical approach to project issues which you approach in a pragmatic manner without neglecting the importance of details
  • You master the disciplines of project management with particular focus on overview, planning and reporting, ownership delegation, networking, and communication
  • You have a good all-round commercial, financial and technical understanding
  • You have customer-focus and are able to understand the business value chain seen from a sales and customer perspective
  • Your personality among others covers areas of empathy and diplomatic skills which together with your persistent focus lead to good results
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English rated at negotiation level
