WCMC are now seeking two Project Management Officers to work closely with a group of Programmes in support of their project management activities. This is a great opportunity to use your exceptional planning, financial management and contractual administration skills whilst working for an organisation with a vision to make a ‘world where biodiversity counts’.
You will be based in the Portfolio Management Unit, reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management Unit and will work alongside other Project Management Officers. You will each be designated around three programmes who you will work closely with to provide support with team resource planning, forecasting and outlining milestones within our project management database. Working closely with your relevant programmes, you will manage the project expenditure process and support Project Leaders to develop and manage budgets from the initial development stages through to delivery. Developing a comprehensive understanding of the project portfolio, you will highlight areas which require attention and will be responsible for managing our project administration process, including processing contractual documents and ensuring accuracy of our project management system. Fostering strong relationships with colleagues, you will provide dependable support to our Programmes, including a programme of training to ensure that projects are effectively management throughout the entire lifecycle. You will be qualified to at least A level or equivalent and will ideally hold a project management qualification. You will have excellent financial and project management skills and will be competent in using Excel and databases. Finally, you will be a strong team player, with a ‘can do’ attitude working to high standards and a desire to drive continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
