Description
National Wildlife Federation is seeking a Project Lead to join our Technology Services team. This person will be responsible for systems projects within with-in the System & Technology group and throughout the entire NWF organization. This position will lead diverse team throughout the entire project lifecycle to implement systems and provide business solutions (these solutions will rely heavily on information technology assets and services).
Responsibilities:
Manage portfolio of 1-8 projects varying in size, keeping all projects moving according to individual project plan and carrying through the entire project life cycle.
Manage diverse teams with no direct supervisory relationship. Lead people and team through diplomacy, influence, and informal management (as opposed to direct organizational supervision).
Organize resources to deliver projects on time and within budget, while taking responsibility for resolving issues, clearing hurdles, and mitigating risks.
Work closely with various departments on business requirements. Lead reams to an elegant design that meets technological, functional, and operational needs.
Identify inefficient or cumbersome organizational processes. Actively seek out ways to create value for the project as well as with the project stakeholders.
Lead teams through process mapping and re-engineering towards a more sustainable business model. Provide and implement solution oriented options.
Serve as a primary department resource for business and operations process improvement.
Provide regular assistance and support to the VP, Systems and Technology
Develop improved processes for departmental purchasing, expense reporting tracking, and assist in the collection, review and submission of expense reports.
Assist in the development and facilitation of departmental meetings including staff meetings, trainings and professional development.
Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in IS or Business Administration, or related field.
CAPM certification, professional project management training or other PM professional designations preferred.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience as a project manager and/or project administrator of technology projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented
Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical staff
Proven success leading and directing cross-functional teams effectively
