Project Intern position in Forum's Bristol OfficeAs part of an ongoing programme Forum for the Future is looking to appoint an intern in our Bristol Office.  The successful applicant will assist with research and delivery of the Sustainable West of England Programme, which aims to help make the greater Bristol area the most sustainable city-region in the UK. This Programme is working on a range of projects in partnership with national, regional and local government, business, universities and leading sustainability organisations, focusing on the four local authority areas of Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and Bath & North East Somerset, to tackle key sustainability challenges across the city-region - making housing more energy efficient; helping organisations cut their carbon emissions; reducing dependency on private cars; encouraging local food; and raising awareness of sustainability. During your internship you will have to work closely with the Bristol team to support their research and management of various projects.   Tasks are likely to include:
  • Design and development of public facing information and marketing materials for energy efficient retrofitting of housing as part of Refit West.
  • Assisting with project management of events for the West of England Carbon Challenge.
  • Coordinating stakeholder engagement and funding application for Bristol Food Network.
Further desk-based research and general project management support on an ad hoc basis may also be required. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and project management support of team activities, as and when needed.
  • Other activities as may be reasonably required.

This internship is based in our Bristol office. Lunch expenses up to the value of £5 and travel expenses from within the Bristol city-region will be covered. This internship is for a period of three months, full- or part-time. Expected start date is 5th October 2009. Working hours are to be negotiated.
