Description

Position: Project Evaluator, Short term consultant

Start date: May 2012

Deadline: 11th May 2012

Duration of the mission: Not more than 3 weeks

Applicant requirements: Candidates with at least 5 years experience in the sector and or project evaluation.  A familiarity with Sri Lank and the fisheries sector will be an advantage, as ill knowledge of the CSCF funding guidelines.

Selection of the successful consultant will be based on a balance between experience, relevance and cost.

Location of the Mission: Sri Lanka, Galle and other field locations as appropriate.  Possibly also Cambridge, UK depending on budget and consultant location.

Total Budget available: £4,000 Including flights, field costs and fees and other overheads.

Project: Assessing and developing the role of independent monitoring by civil society to support good governance of the fisheries sector in Sri Lanka

Lead Organisation: Resource Extraction Monitoring (REM) UK

In country implementing organisation: Rainforest Rescue International (RRI), Galle, Sri Lanka

Funding: Civil Society Challenge Fund / UK DFID

Supervised by: Project Coordinator (RRI) and Directors REM

Liaison: Stuart Wilson, Director REM UK.

Additional Information: The evaluation is to be started in the month of May 2011 and will require a visit in country to the project partner offices in Sri Lanka and possibly to the UK office of REM depending on the budget available. 

Applicants should send a CV and a short budget detailing the daily fee rate, anticipated flight costs and perdiem rates. Communications, visa cost (if any) and other overheads are to be included in the daily fee.
