Description

My client is a leading Independent Solar developer/EPC operating out of the West Coast focussed on Utility scale solar development. They are actively looking to grow their Engineering teams and so searching for Project Engineers who have a track record in Project Engineering for utility-scale solar PV power plants.

As Project Engineer, you will coordinate the preparation of full-scope engineering deliverables during both the project development phase and the EPC phase from project inception to commercial operation.  During the Development Phase, the Project Engineer will work in a team environment with land, permitting, transmission, financial and other specialists to successfully develop multi- megawatt solar power plants.  During the EPC Phase, the Project Engineer will work in a team environment to manage the EPC contractor's engineering and design of the utility-scale PV power plants.

Education:

  • Degree in Engineering or Equivalent Discipline

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage site constraints maps, site layouts, performance and energy predictions, single line diagrams, project schedules, cost estimates, and performance predictions.
  • Manage the preparation of site surveys and topo maps, storm water hydrology studies, geotechnical investigations, water supply studies, and related site evaluations.
  • Develop the preliminary design of PV power plants, plant substations, and generation tie lines to interconnect to the transmission network.
  • Prepare engineering and construction input to site environmental land use permit applications and review proposed permit conditions.
  • Prepare definition of EPC scope of work and technical specifications for PV power plants and interconnect facilities.
  • Review and evaluate all technical aspects of EPC proposals and assist in negotiating EPC contracts.
  • Review technical submittals from EPC contractors during the course of EPC project execution, and assist the field project team in managing the EPC contractor's construction and commissioning of PV power plants and interconnect facilities
  • Supervise engineering activities by consultants to ensure scope, schedule, quality and coordination requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of at least five years in solar PV.
  • Can provide examples of succefully completed utility scale solar PV plant as Project Engineer.
