ARCADIS seeks a Project Ecologist or Environmental Scientist with experience in Wetlands/Stream Restoration in our Columbus, OH office to work with an existing team focused on all types of ecological projects. This position will be responsible for projects ranging from environmental compliance and permitting tasks to restoration design and construction oversight. This position will work with an established team on projects/proposals and will work with clients. This position will be responsible for developing project strategies, preparing budgets / schedules, negotiating with regulators, and mentoring junior level staff.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
* Stream Restoration Design (including stream mitigation bank experience)
* Wetlands identification/delineations/restoration/mitigation
* Wetlands design
* Ecological permitting and review
* Section 404/401 permitting
* Threatened and Endangered Species Surveys
* GIS experience
* Understanding of LOMR / CLOMR process
* Rosgan training / certification preferred
* Understanding and experience in hydraulic / hydrologic modeling
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
* Strong organization skills
* Demonstrated project management experience including budget and schedule monitoring and control responsibilities

Basic and Required Qualifications:
* Minimum years of experience: 10 years of environmental consulting experience in ecology / environmental science
* Education required: BS Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or Environmental Engineering
* Registrations/Certifications required: Rosgan, USACE Wetlands Delineation certification
* Skills required: Wetlands delineation, stream design / restoration / bank mitigation, GIS, ecological planning and permitting
Additional and Preferred Qualifications:
* Education preferred: MS Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science
* Rosgan certification a plus
* This position does require travel. Travel amount is negligible ' mainly in Ohio.
* A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
* This position does manage others.
