Description

BirdLife International, the largest partnership of conservation NGOs in the world and Nature Seychelles (BirdLife Partner), the award winning conservation NGO are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual whose main task will be to locate and liaise with donors and develop environmentally related project proposals to sell to those donors; for conservation in Africa and related islands.

The emphasis would be on climate change, biodiversity conservation, marine and coastal management, environmental education, island issues, and related matters including any innovation.

The person will be located in and supported by the the BirdLife Africa Secretariat in Nairobi and will work with the Director of BirdLife Africa and the Nature Seychelles Chief Executive. Support for travel to Seychelles is included, and if necessary to another country where an interested donor is located.

Qualifications and skills: Appropriate university degree(s); 5 - 10 years of proven experience in developing medium to large environmental project proposals and successfully raising the necessary funds; good contacts with donors.

Salary: Circa US$40,000 per annum + Medical & Life Insurance; bonus for success Short listing will be based on CV and possibly a brief telephone interview. Successful candidates will be asked to attend face to face interviews.
