Would you like to help us strengthen our efforts within wind power development in Poland?

Join our Warsaw team and become Project Development Manager of wind farm projects. At present, we are hiring staff for all job functions, and our team will soon count 20 employees.

You will be joining one of the pioneers within wind farm development in Poland. For the past 10 years, we have been active within wind power in Poland. We own and operate three wind farms in the northern part of Poland and expect to start construction of the fourth in autumn 2011. Furthermore, we have a significant and growing portfolio of wind projects in Poland. As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we now wish to strengthen our Polish team with an experienced team secretary.

We are also one of the leading energy companies in Europe within the fields of developing, constructing and operating onshore and offshore wind farms. We have more than 30 years of experience in wind power, and up to 20 per cent of our power is produced from renewable resources. Our business is based on producing, distributing and trading energy and related products in Northern Europe.

You will be based at our office in Warsaw. Especially during the first six months, you should expect a number of travels to Denmark to secure a solid integration with our Danish organisation. As part of your job, you must expect several travels to our sites in Poland.

Areas of responsibility

You will be responsible for developing wind farm projects from project origination through obtaining of project consent and until final investment decision. Your areas of responsibility will include the overall coordination of processes for environmental and planning activities, layout and wind resource assessment, grid connection issues as well as contact to the stakeholders, such as landlords, municipalities, environmental authorities and county offices.

You will manage your own project portfolio on a daily basis and ensure that your projects in Poland are developed in a standardised way and in accordance with our company's policies and guidelines. In order to ensure that, you will cooperate closely with our project management organisation in Denmark.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • manage budgets and time schedules for projects during their development
  • prepare progress reports for our senior management group
  • liaise with internal and external specialist consultants to ensure optimum technical and cost-effective design
  • manage procurement and monitoring of activities for the services required for the development phase
  • participate in due diligence processes concerning project acquisitions.

Your profile

You will hold a Master's Degree or equivalent within a relevant discipline combined with extensive experience with management of wind farm development projects.

You will have experience with managing project teams and liaison activities with authorities, eg utilities, municipalities, environmental authorities and county offices. We expect you to be able to draw upon a wide net of professional contacts in the energy sector and be able to arrange meetings with the relevant authorities and other stakeholders.

You will speak and write both Polish and English fluently.

It will be beneficial if you have qualifications within the fields of electrical engineering, layout, wind resource assessment or civil works.

Alternatively, it would be advantageous if you have experience from wind farm construction or comparable construction projects. Such experience would among other things include detailed design, dimensioning, preparation of tender specifications, contract negotiations, procurement of the main components and quality inspections at the suppliers' workshop.

It is essential that you have an entrepreneurial approach to your work combined with the ability to seek solutions to challenges as you will be part of a new team developing our company's wind activities in Poland. You will have the ability to work both independently and together with your business partners. Furthermore, you will have a high level of integrity, strong negotiation and communication skills as you will liaise frequently with many stakeholders, including our Danish headquarters.
