About Us: The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. ZSL’s mission is to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. This is realised by carrying out field conservation and research in over 50 countries across the globe and through education and awareness-raising at our two zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, inspiring people to take conservation action.
Job Overview: ZSL is seeking a new role of, Project Development Manager to help drive forward the society’s mission by working with the teams across its global and regional conservation programmes to design and deliver a portfolio of large-scale project proposals and all associated fundraising materials. The post holder will be based in London and will report to the Senior Policy Advisor.
Person Specification: A successful candidate will have an in depth understanding of key issues relevant to biodiversity conservation; a strong track record of developing successful nature / environmental conservation focussed fundraising proposals, including the development of project log frames; a working knowledge of large-scale philanthropic foundations’, bilateral and multi-lateral donor priorities; excellent written and spoken English and strong organisational, interpersonal and presentation skills;.
