Employer: Change Agents UK Host Organisation: Northamptonshire County Council Telephone Interview Week Commencing: 2nd September 2013 Interview Date: Thursday 12th September 2013 Project Start Date: Monday 30th September 2013 Duration: 9 months with the possibility of extension Project End Date: 27th June 2014 Background: Northamptonshire has a target to secure access to superfast broadband for all homes and businesses in the county by 2017. By 2015, over 70% of premises will be covered by suppliers in the commercial telecoms market, principally via BT and Virgin Media. The County Council’s co-investment partnership contract with BT, which was signed in March 2013, will increase this coverage to about 90% by the end of 2015. The next challenge for the County Council is to secure solutions for the ‘final 10%’ or so of premises to enable us to meet the 2017 target. Objective: There is a high level of interest from the public, business, Government and other local stakeholders about Superfast Northamptonshire. Managing communications and stimulating demand to optimise outcomes is a critical project – this needs to be pre-emptive, responsive, politically aware, timely, sensitive, ‘on message’ and joined up with BT (and any other industry deployment investors if and when secured). Project communications and engagement activity needs to be managed effectively and sensitively to mitigate otherwise high impact risks for the reputation of the County Council and the success of the wider Superfast Northamptonshire project.This role will involve developing, managing and co-ordinating communications for the project.
