Project Co-ordinator – East Durham School Farmers’ Markets

£18,029 (0.7 fte £25,756)

Fixed term contract until 30 June 2013

Peterlee, with regular travel throughout East Durham 

We are looking for an experienced project co-ordinator to oversee the set up and support of nine school farmers’ markets and associated local food initiatives in the East Durham area.   
 
You will be responsible for introducing the project and promoting it’s concept to the local community; for recruiting schools and producers to participate and for establishing markets to the point where they are self-sustaining.   
 
 
Working closely with each school you will provide them with ongoing expertise and support, and in the run up to the markets provide training for volunteers and assist with classroom education sessions. You will also be engaged with organising community outreach events aimed at further developing the links between schools and their local communities.  
 
Knowledge and experience of working in the education and food and farming sectors is essential, as is project co-ordination and administration skills. You will also be an excellent communicator with proven organisational skills.
