Project: INBAR’s involvement in 2011 Xi’an World Horticultural Exhibition

INBAR is currently seeking a capable Project Assistant to support the implementation and management of the day-to-day operations for INBAR garden and its activities in 2011 Xi’an World Horticultural Exhibition, China. The Project aims to establish a bamboo garden in the venue of 2011 Xi’an World Horticultural Exhibition to have activities to show bamboo and rattan’s role in environment protection, livelihood and trade development as well landscape and horticulture. The mandate of this position is to help ensure smooth coordination, communications and operations of the Project.
1. Support the day-to-day operations of the Project; maintain the project website, edit and update the content on a continual basis;
2. Participate in the implementation of the project activities;
3. Assist the Project Manager to coordinate the project activities;
4. Liaising with the organizing committee of 2011 Xi’an World Horticultural Exhibition;
5. Co-ordinate and assist in travel arrangements, procurement and activity for the project;
6. Assist in fundraising for the project;
7. Assist in the preparation of press releases, statements, and speeches on the project’s activities;
8. Undertake such other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager.
Requirements
- · University degree in a relevant field (Administration, Business Management, Linguistics);
- · Minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience in international activities;
- · Knowledge of development issues as related to communications and advocacy, environmental issues in China; Strong writing and editing skills;
- · Proven analytical and organizational skills for activities and events;
- · Ability to develop and maintain relationships with government, NGOs, private sector, etc.
- · Fluent written and oral communication in Chinese and English language;
- · Strong communications and interpersonal skills; professionalism and integrity.
