Description

This sea turtle conservation project has been running since 1996 with the help of many volunteers from all over the world. It is looking for project assistants for one of two periods: 7 November, 2013 - 31 January, 2014 or 25 January – 20 April, 2014.

Specific tasks and responsibilities: conduct field work, especially beach monitoring and behavioural observation; collect data and enter data on a daily basis/supervise volunteers’ and intern’s data collection and entry; training volunteers on field work methods, data collection and entry; write a daily diary about project activities; organize additional project activities for volunteers.

Candidates should have experience in turtle conservation projects or other fieldwork plus possess a BSc in Biology or a related field, or be a student in a related field (i.e. biology, ecology, social sciences, environmental education).

Project Assistants receive free board and lodging for the duration of their stay.

The application deadline is 10 August, 2013 for the 1st period and 15 October, 2013 for 2nd period.
