Description

This sea turtle conservation has been running since 1996 with the help of many volunteers from all over the world. It is looking for project assistants for one of two periods: 20 November 2012 to 18 February 2013 or 15 February to 25 April 2013.

The specific tasks and responsibilities of project assistants include: helping the field leader coordinate volunteers, project activities and free time activities; conducting field research, especially beach monitoring and behavioural observation; data collection, entry and revision on a daily basis under the field leader’s supervision; training volunteers on project activities; organising awareness activities and lessons for local people and for volunteers.

Candidates should have experience in turtle conservation projects or other fieldwork plus possess a BSc in Biology or a related field, or be a student in a related field (i.e. biology, ecology, social sciences, environmental education).

Project Assistants receive free board and lodging for the duration of their stay.
