The Ecology Consultancy was established in 1999 and is now one of the largest dedicated consultancies owned and run by ecologists in the country. We are looking for a Project Administrator to assist ecology managers during the 2018 field survey season. We are looking for a graduate with an interest in ecology to assist with financial tasks, logistics, data and document control and the day to day running of the project.

The successful candidate will be a fast learning, well organised individual with good attention to detail and strong IT skills. The candidate must be able to work under pressure, prioritise and manage their own workload. Project Administrators are integral to the smooth running of our survey programmes throughout the summer. Tasks a successful candidate can be expected to be involved in include;

  • Finance
    • Raising purchase orders;
    • Managing subcontractor timesheets, invoices, expenses and receipts;
    • Assisting with financial audits;
    • Answering finance queries
  • Document Control
    • Version control
    • Proof reading
    • H&S document updates
  • Calendar and logistics coordination
    • Managing booking of vehicles and hotels
    • Coordination of ecologist survey calendar
    • Equipment tracking and organisation
  • Data Management
    • Data filing and QA
    • Inputting survey details in to database

Essential skills and aptitudes

  • Graduate with an interest in ecology and the environment;
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel and Word);
  • Highly organised with strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Quick to learn, thorough and friendly with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.

NB. This is an office based position. The Project Administrator will not be required to undertake field work
