The Born Free Foundation is a dynamic international wildlife charity, devoted to compassionate conservation and animal welfare.  Born Free takes action worldwide to protect threatened species and stop individual animal suffering. Born Free believes wildlife belongs in the wild.   

We are currently recruiting a Programmes Support Co-ordinator.  Based in our Head Office in Horsham, West Sussex, working
as part of the conservation team, the successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks in Born Free’s Programmes Department.

Job Description

The Programmes Support Co-ordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing administrative support to the Born Free conservation team
  • Responding to general conservation enquiries from members of the public
  • Providing support and advice to prospective conservation volunteers
  • Co-ordinating conservation project wish-lists, logging donated equipment and assisting the Programmes Department with allocation of donated items to projects.
  • Preparation of Conservation Team meeting agendas
    and minutes
  • Delivery of talks to schools and social groups
  • Presenting complex project information in a concise, appealing and understandable manner for inclusion in BFF’s literature (website, social media, Wildlife Times, Adoption news). 
  • Producing engaging reports and documents for numerous projects for a variety of stakeholders (donors, general public, internal BFF, press releases, financial).
  • Regular proof-reading and editing of variety of reports, articles and other literature of varied topics and for various media outlets.
  • Reacting effectively to ad-hoc projects for a variety of people and projects, often with a short deadline.
  • Maintaining financial budgeting records

Required Qualifications

A qualification in a biological / environmental science

Required Skills

The successful candidate will:

-  Be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines

-  Be able towrite to a high standard (produce articles for outreach on the website and elsewhere)

-  Be able to work as part of a team

-  Be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

-  Be highly organised and have attention to detail

-  Have good numeracy skills

-  Languages (particularly French) would be an advantage
