Description
The overall purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance to the Senior Programme Officer for the effective and efficient implementation of the TRAFFIC Conservation Programme with focus on Timber and Non-Timber Forest Product (NTFP) trade monitoring in Central Africa.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under supervision of the Senior Programme Officer (SPO)-Central Africa:
1. To assist the coordination of the implementation of TRAFFIC’s timber trade related projects in Central Africa, and to ensure their objectives are achieved on time;
2. To provide support for the preparation of the Terms of Reference for the hiring of consultants and subcontractors;
3. To support the preparation and the organization of workshops related to TRAFFIC’s timber and non-timber projects in Central Africa;
4. To assist the review, comment and approve workshop materials developed as well as the studies conducted during project implementation;
5. Under guidance of the SPO, establish and maintain close contacts with the stakeholders targeted by the Central Africa Programme Office;
6. At the request of the SPO, follow-up as appropriate the implementation of consultation contracts as well as agreements related to TRAFFIC’s timber trade related projects in Central Africa;
7. To assist the SPO in the preparation of TRAFFIC’s timber trade related projects technical and financial reports to donors;
8. Assist in the preparation of TRAFFIC’s timber trade related communication materials (web-stories, flyers, etc.)
9. To assist in fundraising particularly for the development of the TRAFFIC Central African Programme.
10. Whenever necessary and under request by the TRAFFIC Regional Officer Director for Central Africa or the SPO, represent TRAFFIC at the national or regional events organised in Central Africa
