BACKGROUND

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. SPECIFIC DUTIES 

1.1 PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION

1.1.1 Assist the Project Managers and Project Director in providing technical advice to E4L project;

1.1.2 Facilitate, with the project team, project management including coordination of project activities in the country and at regional level, and help with coordination of work among regional office Programme staff; 

1.1.3 Facilitate, with the project team, project work planning and facilitate implementation of activities;

1.1.4 Facilitate, with the project team, staff facilities and services; 

1.1.5 Assist in preparation of TORs, procurement of services and equipment in accordance with donor and IUCN guidelines; 

1.1.6 Facilitate, with the project team, effective and coordinated communication of information between all organisations and staff involved in the programme implementation;

1.1.7 Ensure timely mobilization of project resources (personnel, financial and equipments);

1.1.8 Ensure monitoring of project activities; and

1.1.9 Monitor all communications, forward critical communications to the CR, Programme Coordinator and Project Director, and respond to, or forward communications to other staff where appropriate; 


1.2 PROJECT KNOWLEDGE GENERATION AND MANAGEMENT

1.2.1 Work with the project team in assisting preparation of all reports related to project as per the project document and timely submission to the regional office;

1.2.2 Support and contribute to the development and production of documentation and written materials relating to the project such as reports, concept papers, terms of references (TORs), meeting reports, communication materials and other written materials as directed and assist other Programme staff in preparation of these documents as needed; 


1.3 FINANCE AND OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE

1.3.1 Work with the Project Director and Project Managers to track and report programme expenditures on a regular basis;

1.3.2 Follow-up with IUCN regional office on procurement and payment issues where needed; and 

1.3.3 Work with the project team in organising meetings, workshops, training sessions, presentations and other events;

1.4 OTHERS

1.4.1 Carry out any other duties you may be called upon to perform from time to time by your supervisor and the Country Representative, IUCN India. This may include assisting the IUCN India Country Office and the country programme in programme development, organising events and other activities/tasks as required.

REQUIREMENTS


• A Masters degree or higher qualification in Natural Resource,Water Management, Finance Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Life Sciences or related field.  

• At least 4 years of work experience in related fields;  

• At least 4 year experience in project management, and network development  

• Experience in financial management and/or budget monitoring is a plus  

• High level of computer literacy (Standard softwares, Internet, E-Mail, etc.)  

• Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential  

• Ability to work effectively with diverse multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
