| | Qualifications: education, experience, communication and languages | | 1. Education and experience
• Post-secondary level of education, preferably at university level or equivalent, in applied statistics, economics, public policy or technical subject relevant to energy. • Experience in an energy-related field, preferably including experience with or in one or more non-member countries. • Broad understanding of the energy sector and environmental issues.
2. Key competencies
• Excellent organisational skills, initiative and commitment. Ability to work with minimum supervision and to accept responsibility for the successful completion of assigned work. Ability to work accurately, pay attention to detail and work to deadlines. Ability to deal simultaneously with a wide variety of tasks. • Ability to work effectively and flexibly in a multicultural environment, to foster and maintain good working relations, as part of a team, with colleagues at all levels, national administrations and industry.
3. Communication and languages
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Ability to draft, edit and proofread texts on technical issues in English. • Knowledge of Chinese, both written and spoken (Mandarin) would be an advantage.
NB. The appointment may initially be made at the level immediately below if the qualifications and professional experience of the selected applicant correspond to that level; in this case, the duties and responsibilities assigned to the post will be adjusted accordingly. |
