Description

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the protection of New Zealand’s natural heritage, including one of New Zealand’s iconic protected areas, Rakiura National Park.

This Stewart Island based position provides a special opportunity to be involved in nationally significant biodiversity work in an exceptionally diverse area, with a team of dedicated staff and an enthusiastic community.

 

This fixed term position is available for a period of 12 months while the incumbent is working on a special project.

 

You will have;

  • Proven ability to work as part of a leadership team
  • People leadership skills and the ability to maintain a high performing team culture
  • A high level of ability to demonstrate the value of conservation to the community
  • The ability to advocate the social and economic benefits of conservation.

Proven experience in developing and implementing conservation programmes across terrestrial ecosystems and associated tertiary qualifications would be an advantage.
