The Program Manager will play a key role in managing current program work focused on NERO’s  New York/New Jersey program, including work on Gateway NRA, The Harbor Coalition, and other such projects.  
 
Additionally the Manager will be expected to play a role in assisting with other select key issues in the region, as defined and identified by the Senior Regional Director and Senior Program Manager. These other focal areas may include providing strategic assistance with on-going NERO campaigns (in Mass. at Minuteman NP, Cape Cod NS, and Boston area parks; or in Maine with Acadia and the potential for a new park in the North Woods).
 
The Program Manager will also work with all NERO staff on other national priorities, programs, and special projects, including but not limited to; NY Advisory Board, NY Gala, donor development, foundation proposals, media and communications opportunities, and other major efforts that define NERO’s unique focus at times.
 
The Program Manager is expected to be politically adept, have strong communications skills, park interest or background, and be capable of employing those skills to advance NPCA’s strategic goals through multiple forums, including media work such as press releases, letter, writing articles for the regional newsletter, giving electronic interviews, etc., conferences, meetings, and other methods.
 
Critical skills include the ability to develop strategic programs, political and ally asset building, development work, organizational teamwork, and communications/media outreach.
