Position Summary: The Program Manager (PM) will work as part of a regional team and assist the Regional Program Manager in the oversight of the sub-region by managing a portfolio defined by both geography and program type. In addition the Program Manager will supervise Program Coordinators as required to deliver support for members and leaders and ensure that both site partner and member outcomes are achieved in a safe and responsible manner. This position ensures quality and consistency while implementing Innovation Engineering (IE) guiding principles

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for high quality delivery of programming in their portfolio in accordance with SCA’s safety standards
  • Communicates key organizational information with coordinators and seasonal staff
  • Participates in and supports local and regional events as needed
  • Assists RPM in the monitoring of compliance with AmeriCorps regulations and identity requirements in the field and seeks opportunities to enhance awareness
  • Cultivates leads for new and expanded program opportunities consistent with their portfolio
  • Guides recruiting, application and selection process for members of regional program teams
  • Supports Program Quality team with the implementation of leader and member trainings and work skills; instructs when requested
  • Manages field level resources in a manner that is consistent with SCA’s mission and risk management standards
  • Manages assigned Coordinators and seasonal staff, as required, in the implementation of regional projects
  • Roves program in the field and completes appropriate documentation
  • Serves as Duty Officer and/or Program Responder and participates in incident response, as needed

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with specific major in field of endeavor or relevant coursework/work experience related to the specific field preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience including skills related to the position such as program coordination, leadership in an outdoor setting and experience working with programmatic partners
  • Demonstrated team leadership and/or supervisory experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a highly mobile, fast-paced team
  • Strong computer skills particularly in MS Office
  • SalesForce experience a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel a mimum of 25% of the time
  • Current Wilderness First Aid/Responder and CPR certification
  • Valid Driver’s license and driving record within SCA guidelines
  • Must pass SCA criminal background check
