Global Green USA needs a committed and energetic person to join our New Orleans office as Program Manager. Position reports to COO & the Director of the New Orleans Office, and works with local homeowners and renters to improve energy efficiency and indoor air quality, as well as with governments, neighborhood/community groups, affordable housing developers, and green building stakeholders to develop and promote green building and renewable energy programs, workshops, and projects. Position will provide support for Global Green’s New Orleans Public Resource and Visitors Centers.
Responsibilities include: - Provide one-on-one green building technical assistance to New Orleans Road Home grant recipients and other residents through written materials, email, telephone, in person consultations, and home visits
- Coordinate Resource Center, Workshop/outreach presentations and Holy Cross Visitor Center activities to maximize educational impact for Road Home grant recipients and residents,
- Facilitate and support fundraising opportunities
- Manage overall delivery of Program, working within the budget and work plan
- Track and document progress of Program through evaluations of surveys, follow up phone calls/emails, meetings, and energy audits/walk-throughs to provide technical assistance.
- Responsible for operation and supervision of BIBG staff and interns, maintenance/updating of Green Vendors list, and Green Building Fact sheets
- Facilitate/manage product discounts and/or donations to enhance impact of Program.
- Agency assignments as assigned by the Director
The successful candidate will have the following qualities, skills, and experience:
- Technical knowledge of construction with emphasis in green practices
- Bachelors degree in urban planning, public policy, environmental studies, or related field. Graduate degree and LEED AP a plus
- Excellent verbal communication skills required. Outreach, canvassing, advocacy and/or sales experience is a plus
- 5 years of professional experience in nonprofit, public agency, sustainable construction or design, or related fields
- Strong analytical, writing, and organizing skills
- Computer proficiency with Excel and Convio
- Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a hard-working, creative team.
Hours: M-F, 9:00am - 6:00pm, some weekends/evenings required
Staffing Type: F/T exempt
Compensation: $45,000 - $55,000 annual, based upon experience
