Description

The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a Program Coordinator for a program in partnership with the Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg, MS.  Arrange all living and project logistics, including hitch and travel schedules

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a new program initiative with the Army Corps of Engineers (ACoE)
  • Develop survey protocols, technological guidelines and curriculum materials in conjunction with the agency
  • Supervise a team of 6 corps members in the field, including training, mentoring and any disciplinary action
  • Supervise members at locations throughout the southeast (work will be within the Little Rock, Mobile and Nashville regions) Arrange all living and project logistics, including hitch and travel schedules

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred
  • 2 - 3 years of progressively responsible experience including skills related to the position such as leadership in an outdoor setting and experience working with programmatic partners required
  • Demonstrated program management success
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a highly mobile, fast paced, pilot project team
  • Strong MS Office and data base skills
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis within the Southeast
  • Current Wilderness First Responder/Aid and CPR certification required
  • Valid Driver’s license with MVR that meets SCA standards required
  • Must pass SCA criminal background check
