The World Resources Institute’s People and Ecosystems Program (PEP) is seeking a Program Coordinator for its Forest Information and Governance Initiative. The Program Coordinator will support projects in Central Africa and Indonesia, as well as a global project to leverage the U.S. Lacey Act to combat illegal logging. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the project managers in managing time, quality and budget parameters, facilitating fundraising and outreach efforts, and assisting in writing, research, and proofreading. Other duties will include working on specific project tasks, managing contracts and sub-agreements, reviewing and editing reports, and tracking project financials. 

Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain contract agreements with partners, including overseeing reporting requirements and follow-up needs to complete agreements on time;
  • Submit and track requests for payment in a timely manner;
  • Assist project managers to update their budgets quarterly and to create budgets for upcoming proposals;
  • Assist project managers in writing, research, and proofreading;
  • Assist projects in managing schedules, arranging meetings and other administrative tasks including faxing, photocopying, mailing, and filing;
  • Maintain project databases, mailing lists, and other files;
  • Manage and process travel and visa documents;
  • Maintain and update the project website pages;
  • Respond to specific web-based and literature research needs as requested
  • Coordinate the publication process for project-related reports;
  • Serve as project liaison for  WRI Accounting, Grant Management, and External Relations Departments; and
  • Review and provide comments on draft documents, proposals, publications, etc.
Qualifications:
  • The position requires a detail-oriented, highly organized individual with interest/training in environmental policy, international development and/or natural resource management.
  • Must be adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and have the ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in financial management and budgeting
  • Strong writing, research, proofreading and database management skills
  • Excellent communication, financial management and computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proficiency in French and English (speaking, writing and reading)
  • A minimum of 1 year administrative work experience and a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required
  • Experience working with USAID grants and/or other bilateral/multilateral grants a plus
  • Website maintenance experience a plus
