The Program Coordinator of the NJ Chapter of the US Green Building Council will be responsible for the coordination of programmatic, membership, education, advocacy and policy initiatives in fulfillment of USGBC NJ’s mission and consistent with the organization’s strategic plan and report to the Executive Director. This position is based Morristown, New Jersey.
The Programs Coordinator will support the Branch and Committee Chairs and is responsible to the Executive Director to:
- Coordinate all aspects of educational and other programs, including: support in the development of new programming; coordination of local LEED workshops and chapter programs including USGBC’s Educational Provider Program and Credential Maintenance programs
- Work with Executive Director and Committee Chairs on event, education and membership-related chapter initiatives, managing program budgets; cultivating funding sources where appropriate; and supporting the efforts of the Education Committee and Branch Membership Committees
- Coordinate the activities related to the organization’s advocacy and policy initiatives, including: support and communication relative to strategic partnerships and advocacy initiatives by the USGBC NJ Advocacy Committee with statewide and regional organizations, institutions, and agencies. Support events relative to meeting the goals of the chapter advocacy initiatives
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on organizational administration including work developing, implementing, and benchmarking the strategic plan; gathering reports to track the organization’s budget and fundraising results
Specific Description
Support the implementation of the following components of the Chapter Strategic Plan:
Education/Advocacy
Work with the Executive Director to coordinate activities across Education, Membership, and Marketing initiatives to plan, promote, and execute programs including:
- Chapter Education programs, and branch events
- Advocacy programs involving County and State presentations and events
- Coordination of program related content for the organization’s website and email communications
Sponsorship and Development
- Support the Executive Director to research and cultivate funding for Chapter and Event Sponsorships
- Coordinate with the ED on sponsorship opportunities and recognition
Membership
- Work in collaboration with the Executive Director, Branches’ Membership Leadership and Committees on opportunities to recruit new membership through programs and other means, and to retain existing members by providing a meaningful membership experience
Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience (3-5 years) in environmental science or related fields in a related area of sustainability
- LEED AP Accreditation
