Program Associate, Training Program

Overview

The Training Program Associate will support CSF’s global training programs and the network of organizations, instructors and other partners delivering conservation economics education worldwide. This position reports to the CSF Training Director.

Responsibilities and Activities

• Implement and facilitate CSF capacity building programs worldwide.
• Help train new Accredited Training Partners.
• Assist with developing, managing and updating online training offerings.
• Support and coordinate with CSF country offices and global training staff.
• Coordinate course logistics (lodging, meals, travel, classroom, IT, supplies, field trips, etc.), application process, workplans and budgets in coordination with partners.
• Recruit and manage course staff and volunteers for U.S. training courses.
• Assist with curriculum development and instructor recruitment for custom courses.
• Manage development of CSF Training manual, course binders, and other materials.
• Maintain up-to-date and user-friendly training resource library for CSF staff, training partners and other select collaborators.
• Implement monitoring and evaluation of training courses and alumni, summarize and communicate results, and maintain database of training success stories and testimonials.
• Help maintain relationships with network of training contacts.
• Support proposals and fundraising.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 3-5 years professional experience in environmental conservation, environmental economics, sustainable development, or related field.
• Knowledge of environmental and natural resource economics.
• Interest and experience related to teaching, training or professional development programs.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Experience with event management.
• Excellent writing, communication and inter-cultural skills.
• Experience traveling, living or working abroad.
• Willingness to travel 25%-30% of the time.
• Foreign language skills in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Bahasa or Chinese a plus.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.

Location

The CEI Program Associate will be based in CSF’s Arcata, CA office, although for the ideal candidate there may be some flexibility to be located in Sebastopol, CA, Washington D.C., or at Duke University.
