Description

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world`s leading conservation organization, seeks a Program Associate to support our Food Goal team in Washington, DC. Under the direction of the Deputy Goal Lead/Senior Director, the Program Associate position provides administrative and financial technical support to program staff, including Director and VP-level staff. The position also supports the program with project management, coordination of major activities and/or meetings, travel arrangements, internal communication flow, financial information processing, and administration of budgets and contracts. Other projects, including preparing briefings and business correspondence, and research and analysis, as assigned.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Manages administrative tasks for the department, including expense processing, required forms, business correspondence, and other materials. Drafts replies, refers inquiries to appropriate staff members and external audiences. Ensures that filing and record-keeping is in compliance with organizational standards. Assists with meeting planning, travel arrangements, and other general office duties.
  2. Performs research on specific issues for program staff. Gathers, organizes and analyzes information from a variety of sources. Assists with information management, including developing charts and databases to track information on conservation-related and administrative matters.
  3. Writes meeting summaries, informational documents, presentation materials, and other business correspondence. Develops consulting agreements and other agreements for final approval.
  4. Serves as point of communications for information related to the program. Identifies, coordinates and expedites the communication of information and issues within the team and with WWF staff across departments.
  5. Assists in donor communications and fundraising activities.
  6. Helps administer and monitor the budgets of assigned contracts and cooperative agreements, ensuring that data is accurate and timely. Updates project tracking database to ensure information is accurate.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

Education/Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required
  2. Two years relevant administrative or project management experience required.
  3. Environmental or conservation education or experience preferred

 

Skills and Abilities

  1. Organizational and analytical skills
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a high level of diplomacy
  3. Ability to manage a budget
  4. Initiative, ability to prioritize and complete work with minimal supervision
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  6. Impeccable attention to detail
  7. Strong aptitude and experience with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
