These responsibilities include, governmental, donor, civil society and academic actors. Priority will be placed on current and future RFN partners.

Additional responsibilities include facilitating RFN’s Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) approach in Indonesia, policy analysis on the management of tropical forests and RFN program logistics. Policy analysis will prioritize climate financing in Indonesia, its design and implementation and ways to improve efficacy. 

This Program and policy advisor will report to the Indonesia Team Leader in Oslo, Norway.


  • 5 years professional experience engaged in Indonesian forestry policy and land-based greenhouse gas emissions mitigation strategies
  • Strong analytical abilities, and experience with policy analysis
  • Demonstrated ability in effective strategic planning concerning reductions in deforestation
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia (native speaker or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated high quality of writing skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Familiarity with web-based platforms that monitor forest cover change in Indonesia
  • Familiarity with key national and regional players active on reducing deforestation, particularly in Eastern Indonesia
  • Ability to work in teams as well as independently, high motivation and collaborative tendencies
  • Ability and commitment to travel extensively within Indonesia
  • Travel to Norway also require
