Role Summary/Purpose:
The Professional Engineering Director Position requires a team leader with Energy Market experience. Managing a group of Engineers and Project Managers, the Director will work with sales, Account Management, Metering and integration, and Network operation's teams, to ensure that customer solutions are developed and built to allow customers to participate in the market and are satisfied with the services that Comverge provides.

The Professional Engineering Director will lead a team that is identifying additional opportunities for customers involving demand response, energy efficiency, and energy management. Utilizing their knowledge of Engineering and the DR market, the Professional Engineering Director will ensure that energy measures are identified and put in place to all customers to respond to events, lower peak usage while maximizing revenue for the customer and Comverge.

The position also requires a Professional Engineer with a strong background in building systems (HVAC, lighting, building automation systems), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate complex technical energy-use concepts to non-technical and non-financial people. The successful candidate should have at least 7 years of progressively more responsible experience in the area of energy end-use and conservation. Previous leadership experience required. Must be creative, customer-focused and have vision for the business.

Focus:
Demand Response, Energy Auditing, Lighting Design and Retrofits, HVAC Efficiency and Performance Improvements, Indoor Air Quality improvements, Efficient Motor Systems, Energy Management Strategies, Energy/Building Systems Controls, Performance Contracting, Co-generation feasibility studies, Steam Optimization studies, Asset Optimization, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with sales to identify and sell clients, identify opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Build professional engineering services group
  • Manage a group of Engineers and Project Managers focused on executing projects and insuring customer satisfaction.
  • Know and implement the market rules to capture additional revenue.
  • Oversee customer satisfaction with C&I implementation services
  • Interact with regional utility engineering resources to obtain requisite data for accurate computer based simulations
  • Assess risk and manage contract, to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate matrix managed project resources to successfully implement contracts, ensuring contract profitability.
  • Engage shared technical team installing meters, infrastructure and support systems.
  • Communicate to the Customer, Comverge Executive Council and Leadership Team status and issues related to Project
  • Assess and communicate to Sales Force additional opportunities to increase revenues

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Requires an Engineering bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of experience
  • High energy to run new business and new relationships.
  • Experience in Utility and Energy sector required
  • Account Management Experience required
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering and Communications a plus.

  • Implementation Success (Total Revenues, Profitability, Customer Satisfaction)
  • Quality, timely, and profitable completion of major Comverge milestones and initiatives (35 %)
  • Customer satisfaction and resolution of issues (35 %)

Qualifications/Desired:
