Production Engineer, Chicago, USA

My client is a global leader and manufacturer within the wind sector, who deliver projects via partnerships with project development companies on a world wide scale. They are looking for a talented Production Engineer to oversee all engineering issues during the production process.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Production Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining methods and documentation for non-conforming parts and determining how these should be used, re-worked or repaired.

You will also respond to and address any engineering issues and will be required to provide day-to-day support on the assembly floor as well as issues which may occur on site.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Coordination of company resources to resolve the issues while maintaining the production flow
• ·         Support of the installation and testing of the turbine installation
• ·         Identifying and documenting electrical engineering related issues in production
• ·         Reviewing test procedures and related support of test benches
• ·         Produce reports and review specifications
• ·         Supporting Production and Project Logistics in resolving supplier issues
• ·         Disposition/repair of non-conforming parts and assemblies

Education:-

• ·         Must have a degree in Electrical Engineering

Core Requirements:-

• ·         2-3 years experience in a production line support position
• ·         Familiarity with electrical system modelling software (eg. PSS/E, DIgSILENT)
• ·         A strong technical background and understanding of the wind industry
• ·         Excellent communication skills and pro-active attitude

General Requirements:-

• ·         Ability to travel
• ·         Ability to work alone as well as part of a team

Key Skills:-

Wind, electrical engineering, power transformers, team leadership, systems analysis, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, production engineering, civil or electrical mechanical engineer
