Ecotality North America is currently looking for an electrical engineer to provide product support for electric vehicle charging equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience with motor drives or other power electronics along with product support and troubleshooting experience.

Candidates will enjoy working in a fast-paced, small company environment and will be willing to participate in all areas of the Company’s business at all levels. Candidates will be self-starters, comfortable working with little supervision, capable of providing their own direction and will excel at learning new skills and technologies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support field technicians with new product installations, service and maintenance
  • Interface with customers to identify and understand problems
  • Interface with Contact Center and Network Operations team to monitor system functions
  • Research, troubleshoot and document product issues
  • Work with product manufacturing to solve functional issues
  • Report status and issues to product engineering team and management

Required skills for this position

  • ·        Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering  (emphasis in power electronics a plus)
  • ·        Experience with motor drives, inverters or other power electronics (>10kW)
  • ·        Experience assembling or servicing electrical cabinets/control panels—0-2 yrs
  • ·        Experience troubleshooting electrical equipment/control panels—1 yr min
  • ·        Experience with power distribution, esp 3-phase power
  • ·        Ability to read electrical schematics and/or one-line diagrams
  • ·        Experience with common electrical and electronic test equipment (volt meter, DMM, ammeter, o-scope)
  • ·        Experience with web interfaces for CRM or other database systems
  • ·        Ability to travel (<25%)
  • ·        Must be capable of easily shifting task focus and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
