Product Engineer, Shanghai, China

My client is one of the worlds largest solar companies, they both develop solar PV plants and manufacture the components at multiple sites worldwide. They are currently looking for an experienced solar PV product engineer to work in their manufacturing arm in Shanghai.

Position Overview:

My client is searching for an experienced product engineer to work in Shanghai. You will support the engineering and development of components, and products such as wafers and cells and will directly report to Global Product Engineering Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced individual to advance their career by working for one of the market leaders globally.

Responsibilities:

• ·         Liaise with both regional and global procurement and quality teams to resolve product issues
• ·         Be the ‘go to’ person for queries on product engineering or related issues for materials and components.
• ·         Lead both direct and indirect teams on complex global issues to resolution.
• ·         Innovate procedures to aid Quality and procurement teams in maximizing cost efficiency
• ·         Advise Procurement and Quality teams with supplier selection
• ·         Be responsible for the program management in China

Education:

• ·         Must educated to BSc level in an Engineering discipline i.e mechanical, electrical etc

Core Requirements:

• ·         2-5 years experience in the solar industry
• ·         Minimum 3 years experience working in manufacturing and product design
• ·         Must speak fluent Mandarin and English
• ·         Will be an innovative and competent individual

General Requirements:

• ·         Will be based in Shanghai
• ·         Will display leadership attributes and have experience in collaborating with international teams
• ·         Proven track record in putting strategic changes into place
• ·         Able to communicate efficiently with all levels both internally and externally
