Product Development Engineer, Singapore

My client is among the top 5 manufacturers of solar PV cells and modules. They have experienced extensive growth in the market and they are currently looking for an experienced product development engineer to bring on as part of their expansion plans in Singapore.

Position Overview:

My client is searching for an experienced product engineer to work in Singapore. You will support the engineering and development of components, and products such as wafers and cells and will directly report to head of product development and ultimately the VP of Technology. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced individual to advance their career by working for one of the market leaders globally.

Responsibilities:

• ·         Liaise with both regional and global procurement and quality teams to resolve product issue
• ·         Lead work to improve on electrical system design of PV products with focus on reliability, power output, quality and manufacturing costs.
• ·         Be the ‘go to’ person for queries on product engineering or related issues for materials and components.
• ·         Lead both direct and indirect teams on complex global issues to resolution.
• ·         Innovate procedures to aid Quality and procurement teams in maximizing cost efficiency
• ·         Advise Procurement and Quality teams with supplier selection
• ·         Be responsible for the program management in China

Education:

• ·         Must educated to at least BSc level in an Engineering discipline i.e mechanical, electrical etc

Core Requirements:

• ·         2-5 years experience in the solar industry
• ·         Minimum 3 years experience working in manufacturing and product design
• ·         Must speak fluent English
• ·         Will be an innovative and competent individual

General Requirements:

• ·         Will be based in Singapore
• ·         Will display leadership attributes and have experience in collaborating with international teams
• ·         Proven track record in putting strategic changes into place
• ·         Able to communicate efficiently with all levels both internally and externally
